Who would’ve thought that the Sonic would be the one that helped create a “gaming adaptation renaissance” in Hollywood? Yes, it wasn’t the first “good video game movie” to come out in recent years; that was Detective Pikachu. However, this is the first video game movie franchise that has legitimately gotten better and has brought in more money. The second film did much better than the first, and many are expecting Sonic The Hedgehog 3 to do even better when it arrives this December. Also, there’s a Knuckles spinoff series that will arrive next month.
To that end, director Jeff Fowler posted on Twitter today that Sonic The Hedgehog 3 has wrapped filming!

Pretty cool, huh? Now, the movie isn’t fully done, as they’re undoubtedly going to do some VFX work and such, but this means they’ll have plenty of time to do that and then start the hype train for its release. The biggest question of the film is who will voice Shadow The Hedgehog. We don’t know, but the potential is great!
