Black Myth: Wukong Bring Action to Gamescom with Newest Trailer

By William "Shadowz" KokAugust 22, 2023

During Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023, we were shown the latest trailer for Black Myth: Wukong, developed by Chinese studio Game Science.

In this trailer, we are shown more of the bosses that Sun Wu Kong will face in the game. This ranges from Tiger and Dragon warriors, Chimeras, and other creatures from Eastern folklore and Journey to the West. While it is only brief, we do see more of the locations that we travel to, such as a desert dust storm, forests, and what appears to be the Underworld.

We see a headless musician singing the lore of Wukong. We then see the bosses and what we can expect from the combat in the game. For viewers, we can see gameplay that is similar to many action games like FromSoftware’s Soul series and other Soul-likes. We also see that a Blood moon will be included in some form. Other combat mechanics we see is that a parry is included, and swift movement will be crucial in combat. In the final part of the trailer, we see a boss during the blood moon, which utilizes both projectiles and close combat. Wukong, though is able to maneuver and shield itself from projectile attacks. After doing a solid strike against the boss, the trailer ends, and we see Sun meditating after.

Black Myth: Wukong currently has no release window or what other systems it will come to outside of the PC.
