How to Open Chests With Eyes in Hogwarts Legacy

By Keith MitchellFebruary 14, 2023
How to open chests with eyes in Hogwarts Legacy3

Hogwarts Legacy is filled with surprises, one of which includes certain chests with eyes on them. Once you get close to them, they become suspicious and close their eye, locking their rewards inside. Here’s how to open chests with eyes in Hogwarts Legacy.

What you need to open chests with eyes in Hogwarts Legacy

To open any chest with an eye on it in Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll need a particular spell taught by Slytherin student Sebastian Sallow. In the Secrets of the Restricted Section quest, you’ll sneak through the library, hoping not to be seen.

Unlike the Slytherin students in the ‘Harry Potter’ films, Sallow chooses to help you, teaching the Disillusionment charm to the protagonist. This spell allows you to turn invisible and get past guards and other enemies in Hogwarts Legacy.

After the Secrets of the Restricted Section quest is over, you can use the Disillusionment charm wherever you go, even around Hogsmeade. Most importantly, you’ll be able to use this newfound spell around the chests with eyes in Hogwarts Legacy. To test this out, head over to Hogsmeade’s Dogweed and Deathcap. You’ll find it past the watertbridge and on top of the hill to the north of the wizarding town.

Once you arrive at the storefront, you’ll find a chest with an eye inside on the left-hand side in between a set of plants. Before you turn the corner, make sure you use the Disillusionment charm. Unless you get close and stand next to it for a seconds, it will not suspect a thing. Walk up to the chest while invisible to nab the reward inside. They will all give 500 Galleon pieces. That’s quite the payday.

You’ll find the chests with eyes in Hogwarts Legacy all over the open world. They’re located in bathrooms, classrooms, and even on the roof of Dogweed and Deathcap if you want to open a second chest with cash inside nearby.

Our review of Hogwarts Legacy will be coming out soon. Stay tuned, witches and wizards.
