How To Change The Time of Day in Hogwarts Legacy

How To Change The Time of Day in Hogwarts Legacy-01

In Hogwarts Legacy, specific events and beasts appear at night and during the day. This is common in many open-world games. The process can be easy to miss, so let’s tell you how to change the time of day in Hogwarts Legacy in a few simple steps.

Hogwarts Legacy lets you alter the time of day at nearly any moment of the game. You can change it while exploring the open world or delving into the library at Hogwarts. In order to start the process, go to the “Map” screen in the main menu.

After that, you’ll want to press the right stick on your controller for PS5 or Xbox Series X/S. It will then ask you if you’d like to advance from day to night or night to day. Press the cross button (or A on Xbox) to begin the process. It will then spawn you in the same position you’re standing at during the alternate time of day.

Why Is Changing The Time of Day Useful in Hogwarts Legacy?

There are multiple reasons why you’d want to change the time of day in Hogwarts Legacy. First, there are beasts that only appear during the day or the night. For example, the cute little Mooncalfs with their big beady eyes only appear during the evening.

In addition, certain ingredients in Hogwarts Legacy are easier to find during the evening. For example, Ashwinder Eggs and Lacewing Fliies have a red and green glow, respectively. This makes picking up these potion ingredients a faster experience. In fact, you need the Lacewing Flies to make a powerful Focus Potion.

Thankfully, starting quests isn’t too complicated when time is concerned. Simply interact with the gold-yellow circle around the quest’s location and press the square button on your DualShock or DualSense controller, or X on Xbox, to time skip instantly.
