The Nu Gundam Will Appear in Gundam Evolution Season Two

By Keith MitchellNovember 17, 2022
GUNDAM EVOLUTION - Season 2 Mobius Nu Gundam

Previously, Bandai Namco had mentioned that it would be adding two new units per each Gundam Evolution season. With the first season coming to a close (November 30th), a new trailer showing off the NU Gundam, which is being added to the second season (Season 2 Mobius), has been shown, and as a fan of this particular Gundam, I’m screaming like a fanboy/fangirl.

Take a look at the second season trailer featuring the Nu Gundam below.

So, what did we learn from the trailer? Plenty, actually.

For starters, it looks like the Nu Gundam will have a quick escape of a fast dodge, as shown when facing off again Gundam Barbatos. This move also caused the Nu Gundam to do a flip, and I’m wondering if that could also cause damage if you’re hit by it.

Like in the anime, the Nu Gundam’s funnels can be used offensively and defensively. In one segment, we see that the Nu Gundam can deploy the funnels while attacking to add some extra firepower. Next, we see the funnels deployed, forming an energy field surrounding the Nu Gundam.

What’s interesting is that the Nu Gundam also has a Hyper Bazooka, which wasn’t shown or used in the anime, Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack. Yet, in this trailer, we see the Gundam doing a flip and firing the Hyper Bazooka from its back. It’s not a new addition, as even the Nu Gundam Gunpla has this feature — it just was never used in the anime. But we’ll be able to use it in Gundam Evolution.

Speaking of the second season, Gundam Evolution will also be made available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t feature crossplay, but you can play cross-platform (Xbox One vs. Xbox Series X|S, PS4 vs. PS5). There’s no word if Gundam Evolution will ever be updated to include crossplay, but I sure hope it does for the game’s sake.

Next, can we please get the Tallgeese III? I really want to use that heat rod and mega cannon in-game.
