It has been reported that Kevin Conroy, who is most notably known as the voice of Batman in several animated TV shows and video games, has passed away at the age of 66.

Kevin Conroy’s death was announced by Diane Pershing, who voiced alongside Kevin Conroy as the voice of Poison Ivy, another DC Comics character. While also being confirmed by publicist, Gary Mieraeanu, who mentioned that Kevin Conroy had passed away on November 10th, 2022, after a short battle with cancer.

“Very sad news: our beloved voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, died yesterday. He’s been ill for a while, but he really put in a lot of time at the cons, to the joy of all of his fans. He will be sorely missed not just by the cast of the series but by his legion of fans all over the world,” Diane Pershing shared on Facebook today.

While the news has yet to be confirmed by Kevin Conroy’s estate, this is indeed sad news, and Conroy will be sorely missed by his friends, family, and fans. I still remember his blockbuster performance when I first watched Batman: The Animated Series, so many decades ago. He was the perfect person for the role, and he gave Batman that grizzled but kind persona that I or anyone else will ever forget.

Rest in peace, Dark Knight.
