Dark Souls III PC Servers Are Finally Back Online

By Keith MitchellAugust 25, 2022
Has Dark Souls on PC time run out

Well it took them more than half a year, but as of today, Bandai Namco and Fromsoftware have announced that the Dark Souls III PC servers are now back online. For those that have been counting, it’s been 214 days since that fateful day,

Damn, it that’s some good news for Dark Souls fans all across the globe. As for why, it’s **ahem** the better of the Dark Souls games. Ok, that’s debatable, but it does have the best PVP thanks to all of its balancing. That, is something we can all agree on. Looks like I’ll be partaking in some Dark Souls III Fight Clubs once again.

As for the remaining Dark Souls PC games, those are still being worked on, and there’s no mention as to when those games will be available for online play.

Online features for the PC version of Dark Souls III have been reactivated.

We are working to restore these features for all other #DarkSouls titles and will inform you when they are back in service.

Thank you once more for your patience and support. pic.twitter.com/XHiCZDEANC

On Jan. 23, 2022, the Dark Souls PC servers all went dark. Thanks to an RCE (Remote Code Execution) exploit, Bandai Namco and Fromsoftware took the Dark Souls 1, 2, and 3 PC servers offline; they’ve been down ever since.

Bandai Namco originally stated that it would be looking into correcting the RCE exploit from affecting others. Then later in February, they stated they would remain offline until after Elden Ring was released. Two months after the server went offline and a month after Elden Ring was released, the Darks Souls PC servers are still down. So far, Bandai Namco has been radio silent,  and the Dark Souls Twitter account hasn’t been updated since February 9th, 2022.

I hope it doesn’t take long for Dark Souls 1/Remastrered and Dark Souls II/Sins of the First Scholar to come back online.
