MultiVersus Shaggy Guide – Moveset, Best Strategies, And Effective Perks

Multiversus How to Play Shaggy Guide2

Zoinks! Scooby Doo’s Shaggy is beating up the competition left, right, and center with his Dragon Ball Z Super Saiyan-like abilities. The joke about how powerful Shaggy becomes is hilarious, but he’s honestly one of the best characters in the game when utilized properly. Here’s a MultiVersus Moveset, Best Strategies, And Effective Perks Guide that breaks down his moveset, best strategies, and most effective perks.

MultiVersus Shaggy Moveset and Best Strategies

Standard moves

Multiversus How to Play Shaggy Guide1

Shaggy’s first standard attack is a powerful punch. You can tap the square button (or X on Xbox) for five points of damage and little knockback or hold it for an immense 13-16% damage range and large knockback. This neutral square button attack can cause some serious trouble for your opponent and is one of Shaggy’s best moves. Performing this attack in the air makes Shaggy air step, similarly to Yoshi in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It’s great in air combos and can be an unexpected tool in your arsenal as Shaggy. It does around 6% of damage.

Down and square (X) is a downwards stomp with a larger hit range than the punch. However, it is slower so be careful when you use it. This may work in a combo whenever an enemy is stunned, and then you can link it up with an uppercut move to finish them off. A tap of the button causes 6% of damage, while holding it does around 8-10%. Performing this move in the air is actually more impressive as his slam downwards causes 10-12% and spikes your opponent.

Right and square (X) on the ground is a combo that dishes out 11% of damage and sends the opponent flying horizontally, unlike Batman’s standard combo, which sends them up vertically. Once they’re off stage, try to follow Shaggy’s attack with a spike. You can also perform his air variant of this move, which is a striking knee, similar to Captain Falcon’s deadly knee attack in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Shaggy’s is not as powerful, but it still succeeds as a knockout tactic off-stage.

Special moves

Multiversus How to Play Shaggy Guide4

Shaggy’s first special move with the triangle button (Y on Xbox) has him charging up like Goku from Dragon Ball Z. He turns into a temporary form that has his power-level rocket. Once he is enraged, he will be mighty. We’ll discuss how this Super Saiyan-like form changes each attack below. We find the best area to charge up is off-stage, high in the air, as the opponent is more likely to be distracted by something else when their eyes are focused elsewhere. However, be careful because your opponents can knock you out more easily in these areas. Sometimes, charging up will release a Scooby Snack, which acts as a health item.

Side and triangle (Y) has Shaggy performing a drop kick. This does a decent 9% of damage in its regular form, but it can be absolutely deadly while Shaggy is in his special form. It can cause 18% of damage and provides a great amount of knockback. It may also make the opponent weakened, making them prone to more damage than usual from all attacks. While performing the drop kick in the air, you can actually change its trajectory by moving downwards or up on the thumb stick. This is a good tactic to utilize if you want to hit your foe below.

Up and triangle (Y) has Shaggy perform an uppercut, which causes 7% of damage regularly, but while in his “Super Saiyan” mode, it can eliminate an opponent just like that and will dish out an incredible 23%. Like we mentioned earlier, use a stomp (down and square) and then perform an uppercut for a good 1-2 combo.

Lastly, down and triangle (Y) summons a sandwich from Shaggy’s pocket. It can then be thrown with the same input for the second time. Shaggy will always start a match with one in his hand, so throw it right as the game starts for an easy ten points of damage. When thrown during his super form, Shaggy’s sandwich grows twice in size, deals 12% of damage, and has greater knockback. If Shaggy doesn’t have a sandwich in his hand, the down and triangle (Y) input delivers a projectile-based earthquake that scales about a quarter of the stage. This causes a weakened status on your foe and 19% of damage.

Effective Perks for Shaggy

Multiversus How to Play Shaggy Guide3

  • One Last Zoinks, which unleashes rage automatically at 100%, giving you some fighting spirit during the closing moments of Shaggy’s first stock or at a tense end of a match.
  • Wildcat Brawler pushes 5% more damage on Shaggy’s melee attacks on the ground.
  • Up, Up, and A Slay increases the damage of uppercut attacks by 5%, which makes eliminating foes easier while in the air.
  • Armor Crush makes Shaggy’s attacks a priority against armor, letting him steamroll through anyone.
