Blue Beetle Star Has Tried On His Suit

There had been a lot of rumors about a Blue Beetle Movie coming from DC Comics, and then at DC Fandome, it was confirmed, and Xolo Maridueña was revealed to be playing Jamie Reyes in the film. Now, at DC Fandome, he noted that he hadn’t seen a suit, but a poster (the feature image above) was shown depicting Jaime in full hero form.

Now, Xolo has talked with USA Today and admitted that he has done a fitting for the outfit:

“We’ve done two suit fittings,” Maridueña said. “They’re hoping that I get more buff by the time we actually start filming. But I’ve seen the suit, and it looks awesome.”

He also noted to the outlet that Cobra Kai helped prepare him for this role, and he’s happy to show off the Latino community in the superhero world:

“Honestly, it feels like I’ve skipped a few stepping stones. “Cobra Kai” has been such a wonderful opportunity, (and) it feels a little bit intimidating being this is my first movie and it’s in a realm that’s totally different than anything I’ve ever worked on. I’m nervous, but I’m excited,” he admitted. “It’s gonna be important, not only for Latinos and to see people of color, brown people, represented onscreen, but also show a story that we haven’t really seen before.”

It should be noted that the Blue Beetle movie was supposed to be an HBO Max exclusive, but has since been bumped up to being a theatrical release. So clearly they have a lot of faith in this movie, no word on when it will release just yet.
