Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Dominates UK Charts

By Todd BlackNovember 21, 2021
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are one of two major Pokemon releases in the next few months, with Legends Arceus being out in January. These are the first console remakes of a previous generation, and reviews are already saying it’s a worthy remake.

While Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl may be old in terms of when they came out, people are apparently not afraid to buy them. In the UK, the first numbers for the games have arrived, and it’s rather astounding.

The games were easily the top two selling titles upon launch for their release week, but they’re also now the best-selling launch for the Switch in 2021. And apparently, they’re the second-best launch of the entire gaming year in the UK, behind only FIFA (which isn’t a surprise given it’s a soccer/Futbol game).

Even the combo version of the titles came in the Top 10 for the UK, and if these titles are doing well in the UK, you know they’re doing well in Japan and the US and are easily aiming to be the next million-seller for the Switch.
