If gamers are used to one thing, it’s going and having to wait for certain games to come out despite being promised or hoped for. Kingdom Hearts 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and more come to mind. But for NEO The World Ends With You, this was a game where fans honestly didn’t know if it WOULD come out until it was announced for 2021, and then the question became…would it be good?
The answer was an emphatic “YES!!!” as both gamers and reviewers (including myself, and NEO TWEWY is currently my GOTY as my review notes) loved this game. The problem? Well, according to Square Enix in their latest financial report, despite the positive praise (which they themselves noted), the game apparently “underperformed”:
“While “NEO: The World Ends with You” was well received by users, it has underperformed our initial expectations.
That being said, they did note that they feel that the game could do well over its lifetime sales. And that could be true with upcoming sales on the game for Black Friday. Including it being on sale RIGHT NOW on Amazon!
So if you haven’t gotten NEO The World Ends With You, please fix that, it’s a really great title and deserves to at the very least hit the million mark.
