Super Nintendo World To Get Donkey Kong Themed Area

Nintendo for years now has been trying their best to expand their brand beyond video games and certain merch. To that end, they decided to make their own theme park called Super Nintendo World, which is open right now in Japan. In fact, it’s already a hit by many metrics thanks to its focus on the world of Mario. However, Nintendo let fans know early that other additions would be made, and now, they’ve confirmed that the first expansion will be Donkey Kong-themed.

Nintendo gave out a press release detailing the Super Nintendo World expansion, here’s a key piece of what it said:

The area will feature a roller coaster, interactive experiences and themed merchandise and food. Guests will be able to take a walk on the wild side through the lush jungles where Donkey Kong and his friends live.  The area will be a gamechanger that combines the innovative technology and globally popular approach to theme park entertainment of Universal with the creativity of Nintendo. The new area is set to open in 2024.

So it’ll be a while before people can partake in it, but this proves that Nintendo is driven to make this a truly expansive theme park that contains all of their IP.
