SK8 the Infinity Gets New Anime Project

By Sara Roncero-MenendezJuly 6, 2021

Grab your boards and prepare to shred, because the popular SK8 the Infinity is getting a new anime project. It was announced at the “SK8 Masquerade of Love” event on July 4, and came with a little teaser trailer about the upcoming project:

However, there are no other details on the project at this time, though we will be keeping an eye out as it goes into production. Could it be a second season? A spin-off? A movie? Only time will tell.

There’s also going to be a a two-part stage play, with the first SK8 The Stage play to open this December and the second part to open January 2022. There is also a new drama CD which will be host club themed.

SK8 the Infinity also has two manga adaptations currently in progress: a serialization of the first season of the show, and SK8 Chill Out!, a spin-off that focuses more on the skaters and their relationships.

Directed by Hiroko Utsumi and animated by the studio Bones, SK8 the Infinity is a 12-episode show following aspiring skaters as they learn new tricks, compete in competitions, and face off against foes.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
