Poketoons Returns With “Dreaming Tsubomi” Tale

This year has already been a very spectacular year to be a Pokemon fan. Between the release of NEW Pokemon Snap, the collaborations with Post Malone and Katy Perry, the soon to arrive Diamond and Pearl remasters, and more on the way, it’s a lot of fun! But just as important are all the animated ventures that are going on. Pokemon Journeys is going strong both here and in Japan, Pokemon Twilight Wings was a shocking success, and now, there are Poketoons. This started off in a unique way with the Looney Tunes-inspired jaunt last time, but now, we have a more in-depth and beautiful experience via “Dreaming Tsubomi”.

In this tale (sorry, only in Japanese for now!), we see a young Pokemon trainer named Tsubomi wanting to do nothing more than be a great Pokemon trainer like her parents. But…it’s not as easy as it looks. She befriends a Nidoran and things grow from there. It’s an atypical start to a Pokemon journey, but “Dreaming Tsubomi” shows that these kinds of adventures can start however you want them to. Watch the 14-minute short below, and stay tuned to the very end for a wonderful connection to the original Pokemon games!
