Netflix Expands The Animated Castlevania Universe

By Keith MitchellJune 11, 2021
Neflix Castlevania Season 4-01

Today during Netflix’s Geeked Week, the company announced a new animated series that will expand on its Castlevania universe. If you’ve been watching the series, as of Season 4, our heroes triumphed over evil and finally earned themselves a break. During this happy time, Sypha and Trevor had a child that would be the catalyst in this new animated series.

While this new series is still in production, we know that this will focus on Richter Belmont and Maria Renard. Fans of the Castlevania show will recognize these two from several Castlevania games, including Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Night, Nocture of Recollection, to name a few.

Sadly, this also means that we won’t get to see perhaps the most famous of the Belmont family, Simon Belmont. A character who started in the first two Nintendo Entertainment System games; Castlevania and Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest. I’m not sure why Netflix decided to go this route, but either way, I’m ready for more Castlevania.

Of course, you’ll have to also take into consideration that this new series is going to take place far, far, far, far into the future of the recent Castlevania series. Meaning we won’t see any of the characters you’ve experienced. Well, with the exception of Dracula and Alucard, that is if anyone hasn’t killed them off by the time the new series starts.

The Castlevania Universe is getting even bigger.

There’s currently no ETA on when this new series will be released, but I’ll be waiting in anticipation until it does.
