Sony Website Listing Leaks PlayStation Plus Video Pass

By Camilo OlmedoApril 21, 2021
ps plus video pass

VGC spotted a now-deleted listing on PlayStation’s Polish storefront teased what is seemingly a video streaming add-on for PlayStation Plus. PlayStation Plus Video Pass seemingly will have a selection of Sony-produced films if we are to go by the images provided. Venom, Zombieland: Double Tap, and Bloodshot were all produced by Sony and were the showcased films on the listing.

For non-Polish speakers, the listing has been translated below:

A new benefit available for a limited time on PlayStation Plus… PS Plus Video Pass is a trial service active 22.04.21 – 22.04.22. The subscription benefit is available to PS Plus users in Poland.

PlayStation Plus Video Pass

PlayStation wanting to further bolster their paid subscription services comes as no surprise given the success of Xbox’s Game Pass. The service has become the gold standard for game streaming services and PlayStation has taken flack for its often lackluster implementation of their own service. Adding movie and TV streaming capabilities could be just the boon they need to make PS Plus a real contender.

It’s still unclear if this trial service will be available to anyone outside of Poland or if it’s just a limited-time service as no comments have been made by any Sony representatives as of yet.
