Mr. X Nightmare DLC Announced For Streets of Rage 4

By Keith MitchellApril 8, 2021
Streets of Rage 4 Mr. X Nightmare DLC

It’s been a long time coming, but the news surrounding the Streets of Rage 4 DLC has been revealed, and I’m super excited for it.

We really enjoyed Streets of Rage 4, and ever since the DLC was teased, we were waiting for Dotemu to drop more news. Mr. X Nightmare, as it’s being called, looks to have the cast of Streets of Rage 4 entering virtual reality as they face off against an old foe. For those who never played the entire series, Mr. X was the final boss’s name in the original Streets of Rage title. We also get to see Dr. Gilbert Zan make an appearance in this trailer.

Many of us asked for the police officer in the game, Estel, to be playable. Now, thanks to today’s news, we found out that not only is Estel becoming playable in the DLC, but also two other new characters. The other two characters weren’t revealed, but we did get a tease with the silhouettes being shown. One of the new characters reminds me of Max from Streets of Rage 3, and it could be him. We did fight and eventually freed him in the Streets of Rage 4. I’m not sure who the final person is.

Several levels are being added to the game, some of which were shown in the trailer; an aircraft carrier and some ancient ruins with the SOR cast drawn on the walls. The existing cast will also see several new moves added to their already deadly repertoire and new weapons. I’m sure you’ve seen Axel walking around with a swordfish.

The release date of Mr. X Nightmare has not been released yet, but stay tuned as we’ll be reporting on the DLC as more info is released.
