Minori Chihara Pauses Singing Career For Personal Well-Being

By William "Shadowz" KokApril 4, 2021
Minori Chihara

Announced on her personal line blog, Minori Chihara will be suspending her singing  career and events for the time being. The reason is to reflect on her future and exploring possible new paths. In here blog she states:

Reaching the age of 40 while the Corona disaster is unfolding is a big turning point for me in which has caused me to rethink my future. In the time I spent reflecting on myself, I came to realize that my path as an artist may not be the only one for me

Her most famous role being Yuki Nagato for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Other roles include Miku Izayoi of Date-A-Live, Chiaki Minami for Minami-ke, Chouhi Ekitoku of Ikki Toussen, Erica Brown in Violet Evergarden, and Kagura Tsuchimiya in Ga-rei Zero.

Song she did are the Ending for Haruhi Suzumiya with “Hare Hare Yukai“, Ending for the movie of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya “Yasahii Boukyaku “, “Kyoukai no Kanata” from Beyond the Boundary. “Paradise Lost” for Ga-rei Zero, and “Mukai Kaze ni Utarenagara” from Rail Wars!  to name a few.

The last concert tour will be in August at Kawaguchiko Stellar Theater in Yamanashi prefecture before her break goes into effect.

She will continue her voice acting role in anime/media as usual. To think she is 40 years old now. I still recall seeing her in concert at New York Comicon back in 2010. Now I feel old… Regardless of what she chooses, here hopes it is to her will & heart’s content.
