‘M.O.D.O.K.’ Trailer Gives Off Robot Chicken Vibes

By Sara Roncero-MenendezApril 21, 2021

It looked like Hulu was going to be losing all of its Marvel properties as Disney+ took over control. However, among the hangers-on, there appears to be one distinct and kind of trippy entry: M.O.D.O.K.

Is anyone else getting Robot Chicken vibes? Obviously, this comedy is toned down to be more PG-13, but it is definitely darker than the strictly family-friendly Marvel image. But there’s definitely something about the stop motiona/figurines in action look that’s also very reminiscent of the comedy show. Probably because Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, who are doing the stop-motion animation worked on both.

The titular M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing) as he tries to balance his (failing) villainous enterprise with his home life, failing marriage and two kids.

The cast includes Patton Oswalt as the titular M.O.D.O.K., along with Aimee Garcia, Ben Schwartz, Melissa Fumero, Nathan Fillion, Sam Richardson, Jon Daly, Jon Hamm, Whoopie Goldberg and Bill Hader.

M.O.D.O.K. premieres on Hulu on May 21, 2021.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
