Kingdom Hearts Games Are Headed To The Epic Games Store

By Keith MitchellFebruary 11, 2021
Kingdom Hearts

That’s a whole lot of Kingdom Hearts games!

During today’s Epic Game Store Spring Showcase, it was announced that a heaping amount of Kingdom Hearts games would grace the PC for the first time. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter, Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind, and Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory will all make their way to the PC on March 30, 2021. Oh, Square Enix, you’re so kind to us PC gamers.

These were announced as exclusives to the Epic Games Store, so we don’t know if these will eventually make their way over to Steam.

Here’s a full list of everything that’s coming, as several of those games are collections.

  • KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days (HD Remastered cinematics)

And if you’re thinking to yourself that this is a big deal, that’s because it is. Kingdom Hearts, love it or hate it, is a super popular and well-loved RPG that both PlayStation gamers have enjoyed for years. This follows the release of the same games over on the Xbox. Interestingly enough, when those games were released for the Xbox, there were rumors that they would also make their way to the PC, which is exactly what is happening.

The store page is up over at the Epic Games Store, and you’re able to pre-purchase each of these games right now.

I’m glad to see these games finally making their way over to the PC; it’s beyond past time. As for why this is happening now, I can only offer my two-cents, and that’s due to the PC gaining more attention from developers. Japanese developers have released more Japanese-developed games over the past 2-3 years than in previous years. Just look at the number of titles that have arrived on the PC; Persona 5 Strikers, Persona 4 Golden, Bayonetta, Tekken, 7, Yakuza, Nier Automata, Dragon Quest XI S, and the list goes on. As a PC gamer, I love this and hope that it continues. But more importantly, we’ll get to see some amazing mods for these games as well. Oh, you know it’s coming, it’s on PC so it’s definitely happening.

Are you a fan of Kingdom Hearts but always wanted them to come to the PC? Or someone who’s watched the series unfold but never played them? Either way, let us know what you think about the announcement in the comments!
