Persona 5 Strikers on PC Is An Important Milestone For Atlus

By Keith MitchellFebruary 23, 2021

Today marks the day that Altus’s Persona 5 Strikers (Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers) is available on PS4, Switch, and the PC (Steam). The latter is important as the game was already released in Japan for the PS4 and Switch, but the PC version is ew to the North American region. As such, the director and producer of the title, Daisuke Kaneda, is happy and proud to talk about the importance of the PC version.

For starters, this is only the second Persona title to make it to the PC. The first being Persona 4 Golden, a title that was previously exclusive to the PlayStation Vita. Not only is this release huge for both Altus and the PC, but it’s also the only version of Persona 5 Strikers that includes both English and Japanese voice-overs. Toss in full keyboard/mouse and controller support, and up to 4K visuals, all of which sounds fantastic.

Here’s what Daisuke Kaneda had to say about the port:

“Hi all. I’m Daisuke Kaneda of Atlas, director, and producer of Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers. Today, the Steam version of the P5S is now available.

It’s been about a year since the PS4/Nintendo Switch version was released in Japan, and everyone who played it said, “This was the sequel to P5” and “It was more interesting than I expected.”. The new characters Sofia and Zenkichi are also very popular, and I am very happy to be able to release such P5S again in Japan as a Steam version.

A major feature of the Steam version is that it can be enjoyed in both Japanese and English voices. There are 8 types of text, including Japanese, and you can switch between them in steam language settings. English and Japanese voices can be changed in-game, so you can experience a different way of enjoying them, such as “Voice in English and Japanese subtitles”, and “Voice in Japanese and English subtitles”. Even if you have already played the PS4/Nintendo Switch version, you may be able to enjoy it with a fresh feeling.

In addition, dedicated specifications such as key comp and sound comp have been implemented so that you can play comfortably on a PC.
It is also possible to operate with a keyboard or mouse. The first action RPG in the Persona series that was realized because of the collaboration between Atlas and Koei Tecmo Games. It is a title that can be recommended with confidence, with laughter, tears, exhilaration. By all means, I would like many people to play.

In addition, to commemorate the release of this Steam version, we have prepared an original PC wallpaper of P5S.
By all means, I hope you can dye your PC in P5S color and enjoy the Steam version.

Thank you.”

There’s little doubt that Persona 5 Strikes won’t be a hit on PC, as well as the PS4 and Switch. But given that more Japanese developers and publishers are eying the PC as a viable cash machine, perhaps we’ll see more titles from Atlus in the future? Perhaps, maybe a port of Persona 5? Sure, one can dream, but when I dream I like to dream big!

On a positive note, looks like the PC port is already doing well. The game is currently sitting at 1K+ overwhelmingly positive reviews and the game just was released today.

Doing damned good!

Persona 5 Strikers is currently available for PC, PS4, and Switch in North America. Knowing me, I’ll pick it up on PC, but what about you? Are you getting it on PS4, Switch, or PC? Let us know in the comments.
