Alien Isolation is now free on the Epic Games Store

One of the best and scariest Alien games is free!

I’m sure many of you are disappointed to find out that a fake list of free games from the Epic Games Store, well… was fake. But that’s alright, there’s already been a few great games released, and today’s free game, Alien Isolation, is also pretty damned good. In fact, in my eyes, this is the BEST Aliens game ever created and more than enough to wipe away that turd that was Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Nothing puts you in the holiday spirit more than constant dread and mortal danger!

Alien: Isolation is free to claim until December 22 (11:00 AM Eastern). Don't forget to check back tomorrow, we've still got plenty more gifts to give!

You take the role of Amanda Ripley, the daughter of the heroine from the Alien and Aliens movies, as she attempts to locate her mother. This game ties into the movies, so if you’ve watched them, you’d know that around the events of Aliens and Aliens 3, all contact was lost, and Ellen Ripley was lost among the stores. Ok, it doesn’t follow the movies completely, as Ellen never had a child, but there’s there the game comes in. Determined to her mommy, Amanda takes a job in space and has been searching for the past 15 years. Until her crew stumbles onto something, and thus, the events of Alien Isolation unfold.

I did mention it’s one of the better Alien titles, didn’t I? Faithful to the movies, recreating all the environment, ships, and feeling – it’s like you’re in the movie. Not to mention the pesky Alien, whose AI is one the best in the gaming world. It’s programmed to track you, harass you, make you sweat; it’s almost like it’s playing with its prey. I was not too fond of the AI but loved it all the same.

Yeah, Alien Isolation is a great game, and seeing how it’s free, I highly recommend you pick it up. Yes, even if you aren’t a fan of the Epic Games Store. A free game is a damned free game, and it also happens to be one of the best games in existence.

Seriously, don’t miss your chance – claim yours today!
