Gun*Gal Returns Revealed For PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch

By William "Shadowz" KokSeptember 28, 2020

The original Gal*Gun game returns.

Inti Creates has revealed the first game of Gal*Gun from the Xbox 360, will be getting a remaster version with Gal*Gun Returns. This news comes as the 10th anniversary of the game is approaching of the original Japanese release of January 27,  2011.

The original game has never left Japan but now Western audiences will now get to experience the game that started the series.

The synopsis is as follows:

Gal*Gun is the entertaining story of a young man who becomes “super popular” with the opposite sex and is now living the “unfortunate” life of having every lady that looks his way confessing their undying love for him. But he must steel himself and fend these would-be lovers off with his ‘special weapon’ (known as the Pheromone Shot), as he tries to win the affections of one of the main protagonists. Gal*Gun is the crazy combination of arcade-style shooting action and dating sim that truly has no equal.

We reviewed Gal*Gun Double Peace for the PS4 called it a great arcade shooter for fan service aficionados. However this comes to note that Gal*Gun Return is not coming to PS4.

This is likely in response to the censorship that has been happening from SONY when it comes to Japanese service games like Omega Labyrinth and Senran Kagura. SONY, if you want to this market, don’t change anything about these games. It is a big statement when Xbox and Nintendo are getting these niche titles more frequently than SONY. Also that Nintendo is getting a physical release shows confidence to Nintendo that they will not ask Inti Creates to change anything.

Gun*Gal Returns will be released on January 28, 2021 for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. PC/Steam version will be released in February 2021. Physical editions is exclusive to Nintendo Switch, while other platforms are digital only.
