Magically-tinged Battle Royale Spellbreak launches on September 3

By Poch SaldanaAugust 28, 2020

Spellbreak, from developers Proletariat Inc., has looked promising ever since its reveal more than a year ago. Curious players have been able to get a taste through a number of closed betas over the past few months but we now have an official release date for the much-anticipated battle royale. Accompanied with a slick cinematic trailer, it was announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live that Spellbreak would be releasing September 3–just next week.

The game’s frantic spellcasting and clean, cell-shaded art style definitely has me intrigued. And, as far as I know, it’s the only battle royale to have butt-rock guitar-shredding in its launch trailer so I’m pretty much sold, to be honest.

Spellbreak is free-to-play and is coming to Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and PC through the Epic Games Store.

Big fan of games, writing, and writing about games! Two things Poch will always stand by--the Vita was ahead of its time and the world is a better place with a new Rhythm Heaven on the horizon.
