Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ arrives in theaters on September 3rd

By Keith MitchellAugust 19, 2020

Well, it looks like Warner Bros. Pictures and Christoper Nolan have gotten their wish, as ‘Tenet’, the often delayed sci-fi action film will finally see a theatrical release on September 3rd, 2020.

Delayed three times thanks to the current pandemic, Covid-19, Nolan, and crew were adamant they did not want to send Tenet to a digital home release. Similar to what other studios did, to earn some cash while Covid-19 kept theaters closed. Now that multiple theaters have announced that they’ll be opening up this month and September, albeit with limited seating, Tenet will see it’s release.

The question remains, will the film make as much many as it possibly would have it released ahead of the pandemic. Or better yet, if it had been released to digital streaming services or VOD. I don’t know about you, but just because the movie theaters are opening up doesn’t mean I’ll be rushing to partake in them. Quite the opposite, I don’t see myself attending any films at a theater until we finally get a handle on Covid-19.

I have to be honest here, I know theaters need to make money, but at what cost? Risking your life or others just to make a buck doesn’t seem like a good deal to me. As for the film, action sci-fi flicks are my thing but I can wait a little longer.

Tenet stars John David Washington as the protagonist who has been tasked with stopping World War 3 from starting up. We still don’t know the particulars about Tenet, as the details are a heavily guarded secret, and while many suspects it deals with manipulating time, we can’t say for sure.

Are you looking forward to seeing Tenet in theaters, or are you going to stay home and wait for it to eventually hit digital streaming services / VOD? Let us know in the comments.
