Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War takes us back to the 80s and serves as a follow-up to the original game

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

Thanks to the Gamescom Opening Night Live Event, we were able to get a peek at the campaign for the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, which was recently announced yesterday. It also happens to be a direct sequel to the original Call of Duty: Black Ops that was released in 2010.

This first look cam in the form of a trailer and takes us back to 1981, as Jason Hudson, informs the President of the United States of America about an imminent threat of attack. Yes, he’s speaking to Ronald Regan – let’s just not talk about the politics, ok? There’s plenty to take in, but I won’t spoil it, just watch the trailer.

What is cool is we’re finally getting a proper campaign for a Call of Duty game, something to which I’ve missed for quite some time. And while we didn’t get to see any of the multiplayer stuff, that is still coming and will be shown at a later date.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is scheduled to be released on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC this November 13th, 2020. With PS5 and Xbox Series X versions to follow.
