SDCC 2020: Take a Hellish Ride with Marvel’s ‘Helstrom’

By Sara Roncero-MenendezJuly 25, 2020

When Hulu announced that Ghost Rider series was canceled, we all assumed their other Marvel show, Helstrom, would soon meet the same fate. After all, it looked like Marvel was closing ranks now that Disney+ was going to be coming in with its own superhero shows. Turns out, we were wrong, and the show is going forward this fall with a ten-episode run:

The show follows Daimon (Tom Austen) and Ana (Sydney Lemmon), the children of a serial killer who now spend their lives chasing down demons. It seems their mom will play a larger role in the story as well. It is not clear if the first season will live on Hulu before jumping to Disney+ for a second season, or if it’ll just be canceled once it’s initial run is over. We will just have to see in 2021.

Helstrom premieres on Hulu on October 16, 2020.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
