Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales includes an optional 4K 60FPS performance mode

By Keith MitchellJuly 20, 2020

Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will include an optional 4K 60 FPS performance mode. I’m sure this recent bit of news has those looking forward to this title cheering even louder.

This is great news, as many had expected the new Spider-Man title to run at 4K 30fps, as the previous Marvel’s Spider-Man did on the PlayStation 4. Things didn’t get better as several upcoming PlayStation 5 titles, including Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and Horizon Forbidden West were all reporting going to run at 4K 30fps.

With this news, we can now speculate that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also include a resolution mode that will bump up the resolution as well as the textures. This mode would likely run at 4K 30fps due to a performance hit, while the performance mode would sacrifice quality for those silky frames.

Here’s to opening that this won’t be the only PlayStation 5 title to offer an optional performance mode… what am I saying, of course, it won’t be. Here’s to the next-generation of gaming!

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is one of the many PlayStation 5 games that were announced during the June 2020 PlayStation Livestream. Currently, the title is slated for a Holiday 2020 release date.
