Dragon Dragon IV gets an online co-op mode three years after its release

By Keith MitchellJuly 31, 2020
Double Dragon IV

Nearly three years after Arc System Works released Double Dragon IV, a game that did a huge disservice to fans of the series everywhere, an update for the game has been released.

So what’s in this update? Would you believe me if I said that online play has finally been added to the game? Yep, I’m not kidding you.

Today, we have started to release the update patch of download-only software “Double Dragon IV”.
In this update, “online mode” has been added in response to many requests received from users.
If you have playStation® 4, Nintendo Switch™ or Steam versions, you can enjoy the free update.
※ Xbox One version, without update, you can enjoy.

When I reviewed the game a few years back, I was quite surprised that Arc Sys decided to release this game without an online mode. I suppose it’s the thought that counts, right?

Now that the game finally has an online mode, players will be able to play through the game, this time with a partner in crime. This update is free and is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.

Though this patch may be too little, too late. Since the release of the game, we’ve seen the release of several outstanding Beat em’ up titles, such as Streets of Rage 4, as well as other titles constantly being tweaked, such as Fight’ N Rage.

I suppose it’s the thought that counts, right?
