Playable 30XX demo coming to Steam on June 9th

By Keith MitchellMay 26, 2020

30xx, the follow-up to the spiritual successor to Mega Man X is getting a playable demo on June 9th, 2020. According to Chris King from Battery Staple Games, the demo will be available on Steam during the Steam Summer Festival.

In just two weeks, 30XX will have a playable demo in the Steam Summer Festival! Get equipped with a small taste of beautiful pre-alpha pixels and crisp action on June 9th. pic.twitter.com/1oOPkuxSb4

I know many of our readers didn’t get a chance to head out to PAX East 2020, where I had a chance to check out the alpha. Which was glorious, I might add. Now, thanks to the Steam Summer Festival, everyone will get a chance to get some hands-on with 30XX. You can also wishlist 30XX on Steam right now.

30XX takes everything that Battery Staple Games learned from 20XX and improves on it in every way. That’s not all, as the developer team also grew, and 30XX will benefit from having a larger team, with both original and new members. Trust me when I say, the 30XX alpha was super polished. Speaking of which, don’t forget to check out our interview on 30XX with Chris King from PAX East 2020.

That said, I do have a question regarding this demo. As I mentioned, what I played at PAX was an alpha build that was put together for the event. I wonder what will make it into the demo. Hopefully more levels and maybe, just maybe, that futurist level with the flying cars will also be available.

If you can’t wait until then, Batterystaple Games also hosts a 30XX live stream with the next one taking place on May 29th, 2020 at 4 PM PT/7 PM ET. You can watch that over on www.twitch.tv/batterystaplegames.

It’s going to be a good Summer for games and this is just the tip of the iceberg.
