Nintendo released the Animal Crossing New Horizons Special Edition Switch ahead of the announced release date of March 20, 2020. Which is fine because we ended up getting our hands on a unit thanks to Amazon getting it to us ahead of time. We figured you’d get a kick out of seeing us unbox ours.
The Animal Crossing New Horizons Special Edition Switch doesn’t include a copy of the game, but that’s to be expected. Nintendo hasn’t provided a game in many of their systems for a while. Well, outside of a few special edition holiday bundles.
Sadly, if you want to get your hands on one, you’re in for a task. Most of the units are spoken for or have been taken by scalpers and posted on eBay. But hit up your local Gamestop, Walmart, and BestBuy, you may get lucky. If you go the eBay route, be expected to pay twice as much or more. Some of the pricing I’ve seen have been anywhere from $399 and up to $699.99. Please try to find this in a store first before anything else.
