Final Fantasy VII Remake Opening Movie Released

Get down here merc!

This morning, Square Enix has released the opening movie to the upcoming RPG, Final Fantasy VII Remake. Needless to say, as someone who played the original game back in the day, this is both a delight and a testament to how far we’ve come in regards to technology. This looks like, well, an actual movie; like say Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

Check out the opening movie below. If you’re worried about spoilers, there isn’t any here. Though if somehow you’ve never played the original game, or haven’t seen the movie despite the game being released in 1997. Then perhaps you should skip it and just wait for the game to be released.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE is a reimagining of the iconic original game that re-defined the RPG genre, diving deeper into the world and its characters than ever before. The first game in the project will be set in the city of Midgar and presents a fully standalone gaming experience that provides a great starting point to the series. Along with unforgettable characters and a powerful story, FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE features a hybrid battle system that merges real-time action with strategic, command-based combat.

Keep in mind that this title is an episodic release. The first game, which we’re getting soon only covers the Midgar section and will span 2 Blu-rays. The game will also differ from the original game with additional story elements, so it won’t be exactly how you remember it. If you played it, that is.

Final Fantasy VII Remake releases on April 10, 2020. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to finally get to play this – even if it’s not the complete game.

Now, about that demo, Square Enix.
