Little Town Hero Initially Made For Adult RPG Fans With Little Time On Their Hands

Little Town Hero

Another major title has released on the Nintendo Switch in the form of Little Town Hero. This title is made by Game Freak, the masterminds behind the core Pokemon titles. And while it hasn’t gotten as much buzz or press as the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield games, Game Freak put a lot of what they are into the game.

But what was their motivation behind the game? On one hand, the team wanted to make a title that was very far from Pokemon, but on the other hand, they wanted to make something that not only kids could play, but also adults that didn’t have much time on their hands to play games anymore:

“We grew up playing these really expansive RPGs where you’re on huge adventures that take you all over the place. But now you’re an adult, and maybe you don’t have as much time to play so many games like that. Condensing all the fun of those large-scale RPGs into a smaller, shorter, compact package was the initial idea for a game.”

That came from Director Masao Taya in an interview with Game Informer, and it speaks a lot to the desire to make a great RPG while not having it be tens or hundreds of hours long. Little Town Hero is available now on the Nintendo eShop and we’ll have our review of the game up next week!
