Cross-play to be added in the upcoming Call Of Duty Modern Warfare beta

While PlayStation 4 owners had a taste of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta this past weekend, the real fun stuff starts this Thursday. That’s when the next Call Of Duty Modern Warfare beta gets released and it will be available for not just the PS4, but also Xbox One and the PC. However, that’s now all that’s coming either.

With this new beta, the new massive multiplayer mode, Ground War, will be active. That’s 32 players vs 32 other players, on a new map called Karst River Quarry. Oh, that’s not all either, as this new beta will add for the first time in a Call of Duty title, CROSS-PLAY. That’s right! When you’re fragging away in this upcoming beta, you’ll be fighting alongside or against other PS4, Xbox One, and PC players. Excited yet? I know I am.

Infinity War will host a Livestream on September 17 @ 10 AM PT /1 PM ET, to talk about what we can expect in regards to cross-play. I’m interested to see how they’ll pool off PC gamers. We all know the keyboard and mouse is superior to a gamepad, so I’m wondering if an option to include/exclude PC gamers in matches will be talked about. The beta will also have some improvements that were pointed out during the recent PS4 beta. Why not check out our recent article that talked about that beta and what we thought about it here.

Join us tomorrow, September 17th, for our first official livestream for Modern Warfare where we'll be sharing details about crossplay, what's coming up in weekend two of the Beta, and more! #ModernWarfare https://t.co/jtlj7Vv8ja pic.twitter.com/g0sbWxvuoi

Starting on September 19th, PS4, Xbox One, and PC players will be able to jump in early if they pre-ordered the game. While on September 20th, open beta access will be granted to everyone, ending on the 23rd.

  • September 19 – 20 (Early Access for PS4 and Xbox One, PC)
  • September 21 – 23 (Open Beta, PS4, Xbox One, and PC)

We’ll see you online when this next beta drops, so be watching for us!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases on October 25th, 2019, on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
