Earth Defense Force 5 Is Headed To Steam On July 11

Earth Defense Force 5 Steam

Ah, now this is how you get the Summer started, even if it’s a bit late. Out of nowhere, the next chapter in the Earth Defense Force games was quietly announced for the PC. I wasn’t sure this was going to happen, as the PS4 version has been on the market since Dec. 2017. But it’s happening, Folks! Earth Defense Force 5 is coming to Steam!

Set for a July 11th, 2019, release, PC gamers will be able to get back out there and lay the smack down on massive hordes of alien invaders. For those new to the series, just think of the super popular B-movie ‘Starship Troopers’ and that pretty much sums it up. It’s nothing but mindless fun and that’s why the series is so well renowned in the gaming space. Hop into tanks and mechs, pick up weapons, battle through cities and more.

I’ve played a bit of this on the PS4 and I loved what I played. What I didn’t love was slowdown that occurred during a heated battle (base PS4). So I’m hoping that a beefy PC won’t exhibit any of those issues.

Currently, there’s a Steam page, but there’s no pricing available for the game yet. Seeing how the game is releasing on July 11th, I hope this gets updated soon.

Either way, I can’t wait to dive back in.

Thanks to the ever watchful eye of Gemastu, for picking this up!
