The EVO 2019 main stage games have been announced, see who made the cut

Previously we wrote that Joey Cuellar or better known as “Mr. Wizard” by the FGC, would be announcing which games would be played on the main stage during EVO 2019. Well, now we which games those will be.

The following titles were announced during the EVO 2019 official game reveal stream. Check out the list of winners below.

EVO 2019 Main Stage Games

  1. Tekken 7
  2. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition
  3. BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle (I totally didn’t pick this as a returning game)
  4. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
  5. Dragon Ball FighterZ
  6. SoulCalibur VI
  7. Mortal Kombat 11
  8. Samurai Shodown
  9. Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st]

All games will be played on the PlayStation 4, while Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be played on the Switch.

Prior to the stream, I had speculated on which games would make the cut. I managed to get 7 out of 9 games guessed correctly.  Now, If only I could predict a winning lottery ticket.

Sadly, fan favorites such as Super Smash Bros. Melee, Killer Instinct, Fighting EX Layer, and Injustice 2 didn’t make the cut. Nor did Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, which I’ve seen a number of people asking for. Despite the game not turning out to be the game that many wanted.  Still, it doesn’t mean there won’t be a side tournament for those games.

But the big news here is both Samurai Shodown and Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st]. I’ve been waiting on SamSho and we even found out that the game will be released early 2019 and will see a simultaneous worldwide launch. While is moving up to the main stage, after being a side tourney title for a while.

Lastly, registrations for EVO 2019 are live. If you want to head on out and show the world what you have. Or perhaps you just want to experience the event, then spam the link.

The 2019 EVO Championship Series takes place from August 2-4, 2019, and will be held at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Make sure you save the dates!
