Metro Exodus Is Definitely Getting A Preload On Steam

The past couple of weeks for Deep Silver’s upcoming title, Metro Exodus, have bizarre, haven’t they? Not only was it yanked from Steam in favor of Epic Games new web store. But it was also thought that the game wasn’t going to see any preloading either. Which makes it much easier to get into a game once it’s released.

So is it or isn’t getting a pre-load? Well, I’m here to tell you that Metro Exodus is, in fact, getting a pre-load. I just wasn’t sure if I was able to say so before, but now the cat is out of the bag.

If you’ve preordered the game on Steam before it was removed, you will be able to enjoy a preload. As for the Epic Games Store, that’s not in the cards. It wasn’t stated as to why not, but if I speculating here, perhaps the feature just isn’t available yet.

Metro Exodus pre-load for existing Steam pre-order customers WILL HAPPEN, and we will announce expected start time in due course. We regret to inform that pre-load via the Epic Games Store is not planned

Now some of you can breathe a sigh of relief. Especially since the last couple of days were filled with incorrect information that the Steam pre-orders would not see a preload. Something about the Epic Games Store was expected to see all of the traffic for the game, so Steam wasn’t going to see a pre-load. I’m sure that representative who said that was merely misinformed.
