FUNimation Terminates Relationship with Vic Mignogna

By Josh PiedraFebruary 11, 2019

After allegations by fans that Vic Mignogna has kissed and/or embraced them without their consent, Vic Mignogna has had his relationship with Rooster Teeth severed. Shortly after, FUNimation recast his role on the simuldub of Morose Mononokean Season 2. As of February 11, FUNimation announced that they will not be moving forward with Vic Mignogna on any and all future projects.

FUNimation released a statement on social media about their decision:

“Everyone, we wanted to give you an update on the Vic Mignognasituation. Following an investigation, Funimation recast Vic Mignogna in Morose Mononokean Season 2. Funimation will not be engaging Mignogna in future productions. Part of our core mission is to celebrate the diversity of the anime community and to share our love for this genre and its positive impact on all. We do not condone any kind of harassment or threatening behavior being directed at anyone.”

Vic offered an apology at this year’s Bak-Anime convention. A YouTube user by the name of Viktor captured the footage on their phone and posted it for everyone to see. Full credit for the video goes to Viktor.
