DreamHack Montreal 2018 Fighting Game Championships Begin Today

DreamHack Montreal 2018 Fighting Game Championships begins today, September 7th, 2018. DreamHack (hosted in Montreal, Quebec) is the world’s largest digital festival, a celebratory event for internet and gaming culture, Esports, cosplayers, musical events, and much more. Though for today, we’re solely focusing on the fighting game aspect of the event.

DreamHack Montreal 2018 will be ongoing all weekend long, starting today, September 7th, and continuing on through Sunday, September 9th. And the DreamHack Fighting Game Championships are happening those very same days as well.DreamHack Montreal 2018.

Featured fighting games at the event will include the following:

  • Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (Capcom Pro Tour Premiere Event, $15,000 Prize Pool)
  • Brawhalla ($10,000 Singles Prize Pool, $10,000 Doubles Prize Pool)
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee ($10,000 Singles Prize Pool, $1,000 Doubles Prize Pool)
  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U ($10,000 Singles Prize Pool, $10,000 Doubles Prize Pool)
  • Dragon Ball Fighter Z ($2,500 Prize Pool)

Friday, September 7th Schedule (Montreal Time)

  • Brawlhalla– Doubles begin at 2 p.m.- 8 p.m.
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee– Doubles begin at 2 p.m. and will continue until their conclusion.
  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U– Doubles begin at 2 p.m.- 8 p.m.

Saturday, September 8th Schedule (Montreal Time)

  • Brawlhalla– Single pools begin at 12 p.m.- 6 p.m.
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee– Single pools begin at 6 p.m. and will continue until Top 8 is decided.
  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U– Single Pools begin 12 p.m.- 6 p.m.
  • Dragon Ball Fighter Z– Pools begin at 2 p.m.- 8 p.m.
  • Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition– Pools begin at 12 noon.

Sunday, September 9th Schedule (Montreal Time)

  • Brawlhalla– Singles Top 8 will take place at 2 p.m.
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee– Singles Top 8 will take place at 2 p.m.
  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U– Singles Top 8 will take place at 11 a.m.
  • Dragon Ball Fighter Z– Top 8 begins at 11 a.m.
  • Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition– Top 16 Finals begin at 1 p.m. until their conclusion.

From the Hawaiian islands, Nanaue, the Prince of Sharks first appeared. This shark man was uncontested in terms of video game prowess. His notoriety of being a top-tier game wiz angered the envious locals and eventually forced Nanaue into exile. His hunger for competition and game knowledge grew as time past. This in tow, leads him to delve into the sea of writing and gaming culture.
