Next Splatfest To Put Inklings vs Octolings

By Todd BlackJuly 3, 2018
Splatoon 2 Splatfest

Splatoon 2 has been one of the biggest hits for the Nintendo Switch since it launched in July of last year. And since its launch, the Splatfests have been a constant source of fun and enjoyment for the players. There have already been a lot of interesting topics, but now, for the 1-year anniversary of the game, they’re going to do a Splatfest that will surely divide the fans.

For as revealed on Twitter…

“The #Splatoon2 first anniversary is coming, and it’s time for a fishy free-for-all global #Splatfest! Which sea creature is your favorite, #TeamSquid, or #TeamOctopus? Pick your preferred cephalopod in-game on 7/6, and prepare for a tentacled Turf War starting 7/20!”

That’s right, the Splatfest will put the Inklings against the Octolings to see who has a bigger and better following. This topic is appropriate due to the release of the Octo Expansion in June (check out our review!), which let players become Octolings for the first time. And, of course, the Inklings are one of two new characters confirmed for Super Smash Bros Ultimate! So their popularity is back on top too, so this might be a really close matchup.

So, which side are you on? Let us know in the comments below!
