Insomniac Games’ ‘Spider-Man’ has Officially Gone Gold

By VeronicaJuly 30, 2018
Spider-Man

Insomniac Games has shared news via Twitter that as of today, Spider-Man has officially gone gold. Of course, this means that the game is prepped and ready for shipment upon release. The Tweet, which you can see below, also features a fantastic celebratory image of Spider-Man’s in-game model at a desk.

We are pleased to announce that #SpiderManPS4 has GONE GOLD for its worldwide release on September 7th. Thanks to @PlayStation and @MarvelGames for their support in the creation of this original Spider-Man adventure. pic.twitter.com/iD4mJmqGfK

Congratulations are in order for the fine folks over at Insomniac. This puts them a little over a month ahead of the game’s release, which is this September 7th. Hopefully the devs can take a breather before the game’s upcoming launch. The last we saw of the game was at SDCC, where they dropped a story trailer. It shed some light on the conflict that Peter is faced with, fighting for justice all the while disobeying the law. Additionally, it also gave us a first look at Mary Jane, who Insomniac has previously confirmed will be playable for some sections. SDCC is also where the limited edition PS4 Pro for the game was revealed. It is certainly one of the cooler limited edition consoles that Sony has done this generation, if you can manage to get your hands on one.

Spider-Man releases this September 7th exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
