Cloud 9 League of Legends Announces New Assistant Coach

‘RapidStar’ Joins Cloud 9 As Assistant Coach

Jung ‘RapidStar’ Min-sung has joined the Cloud 9 League of Legends team as an assistant coach. ‘RapidStar’ has played for numerous teams as a mid-laner before transitioning to a coach in 2016. ‘RapidStar’ believes that if there is no hierarchy within a team, progress will be achieved as everyone will be able to share their input. As a coach, ‘RapidStar’ has won gold at the ‘Demacia Cup’ and LPL Summer Championship Playoffs in 2016. He has also won silver at LPL Spring Championship Playoffs in 2016 all under team EDward Gaming.

Cloud 9 announced ‘RapidStar’ through a YouTube video parody of a ‘ShootingStar Remix’. The video can be watched below or: HERE

Cloud 9 has had trouble finding success given their reputation. Being classified as a team that has been strong in the past. Leading most of the Spring 2018 NALCS split, Cloud 9 looked to be a dominant force. However, a slip up towards the end of the season had them positioned near the bottom of the playoff contenders. This led to Cloud 9 not getting a buy and having to compete in the first round against Team Liquid. Cloud 9 would be swept in three games ending their playoff run while Team Liquid would go on to win the finals.

Roster

The current League of Legends roster for Cloud 9 is as follows:

Top – Eric ‘Licorice’ Ritchie

Jungle – Dennis ‘Svenskeren’ Johnsen

Mid – Nicolaj ‘Jensen’ Jensen

Bot – Zachary ‘Sneaky’ Scuderi

Support – Andy ‘Smoothie’ Ta

Head Coach – Bok ‘Reapered’ Han-gyu

Assistant Coach –  Jung ‘RapidStar’ Min-sung
