The Surge 2 Has Been Confirmed, Coming In 2019

Well, this is completely unexpected, or is it? One of my favorite titles of 2017, The Surge, is getting a follow-up. Yep, The Surge 2 has been greenlit!

THE SURGE 2 Logo

What do we know about The Surge 2? Well, for starters, the game will take place in a new location. While the first title was contained in the CREO factory and later a theme park, this time we’re headed to the city. According to Deck 13 and Focus Home Interactive, this new environment will feature a larger level design. All made possible by an upgrade game engine that will run The Surge 2.

But what about the combat? You’ll be happy to know that we’ll see the same great combat. With a few upgrades, thanks to an enhanced limb targeting system (thank you!). More implants, more drones and more.

And judging from the screenshot below, we haven’t seen the end of the Rogue Process and crew.

While there hasn’t been any confirmation of what platforms it is coming to. Its safe to assume the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Though it would be nice to see a Switch version as well. The title won’t be released until sometime during 2019. So we’ll have a bit of a wait on our hands.

That’s all we know, for now, but more information is coming. We’ll get more news on The Surge 2 during the upcoming “Le What’s Next de Focus” which takes place from Feb. 7th – 8th, 2018.

Hopefully, this will give us some backstory as to how Warren became crippled. I know this question has been asked a lot, with no answers having been provided.
