Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle Joins EVO 2018 Championship, Gets Free DLC

Looks like Arcsys is pretty happy that their upcoming title, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, will be on the main stage for EVO 2018.  As such they’ve sent out an announcement proclaiming their success. This means the title will round out the lineup, which also includes Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition, Tekken 7, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, Injustice 2 and Dragon Ball FighterZ.

In case you weren’t counting, there are three games in that line-up from Arcsys. It’s also worth mentioning that this will be the first EVO that won’t feature a Marvel vs. Capcom title. Think about that for a moment.

The Evo 2018 Championship will take place Aug. 3-5 in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

They’ve also made their DLC plans for Team RWBY a bit more clear. While they are going to be providing DLC (paid) for a sizeable bit of their roster. They’ve come out and stated that Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao, will not be part of that. Instead, both characters will be provided as free DLC.

Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long will become available for download at no charge after the game’s release. Did you really think we were going to separate TEAM RWBY!?

I suppose that will make the RWBY fans happy, while others of the title are still frustrated at the DLC plans. As they rightfully should be.

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is set for release in North America on June 5th, 2018 for the PlayStation 4, the Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam).
