The Nintendo Switch Sold Around 15 Million By End Of 2017

Well, isn’t that a kick in the head? We have known for a while that the Nintendo Switch has been selling incredibly well. Including selling 1.5 million units in just the US in December. Well now, we have numbers for the entire year of 2017, and it shows that the Switch has dominated, and fully eclipsed the Wii U in lifetime sales in just 10 months.

According to the official report from Nintendo, the Nintendo Switch is sitting at 14.86 million units sold worldwide. Again, this number is from launch to December 31st. The Wii U didn’t even hit 14 million in 5 years, and the Switch beat that in 10 months.

As for games, Super Mario Odyssey is absolutely killing it with 9 million+ sold! Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is behind that, and Breath of the Wild is right behind that. Though there are some surprises on the list, including Xenoblade Chronicles 2 officially being a million seller now.

So what’s next for Nintendo? Well, 2018 is going to be an important year for the Nintendo Switch, and they’ve made some interesting moves so far, we’ll have to see though what majorly big games will come out this year.
