The First ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’ Trailer Is Here

By Keith MitchellJanuary 30, 2018

We knew it was coming and now, the Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer is finally here. So, what’s in this trailer? Well, quite a bit. Some of which could be spoilers, so tread carefully.

The movie picks up after the events of Captain America: Civil War. In that movie (which is also one of my favorites), Scott sides with #TeamCap and takes on #Teamironman and it’s here where we see the first official showing of Giant Man. Unfortunately, Scott is also captured and is taking into custody. This is important, as it sets off events that cause Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne to go on the run. They aren’t too pleased about this either. Hope makes this apparently clear to Scott.

Of course, what would an Ant-Man movie be without those lovely shrinking and expanding powers? If you thought the first Ant-Man movie was off the chain, then this one is going to be even more so. Hope’s Wasp suit is an upgrade over Scott’s suit, and it even makes him jealous. Wings, blasters, combined with a more lethal and agile combatant. It definitely seems like this movie will be the Wasp’s coming out movie.  And Giant-Man even makes an appearance.

No word if we’ll see other characters from the MCU make an appearance. Or when this fits into the grand scheme of things (Avengers: Infinity War) but I know one thing is certain. I can’t wait to see this flick. I only hope that Michael Peña reprises his role as Luis. He was hilarious in the first Ant-Man movie and was easily my favorite character. And while he’s absent in this trailer, I’m hoping it’s one of those “We saved the best for last” type deals.

Evangeline Lily

Car chases, plenty of action, and the return of the original Wasp? Oh, and don’t forget the Hello Kitty Pez dispenser attack!

Ant-Man and the Wasp opens in theaters on July 6, 2018.
