Super Mario Odyssey Is Amazon’s 3rd Best Selling Game Of The Year

No, you didn’t read that wrong, Super Mario Odyssey is the 3rd best selling game on Amazon right now, and it doesn’t come out for another 7 days. Think about that. No, seriously, think about that!!!

This comes right from Amazon’s “Best Sellers” page, with the link given for the video game page specifically. It highlights the games and gaming items that have been bought the most through the site this year. In full. And at #9 overall is Super Mario Odyssey. But of those 9 slots, only three are pure games (it should be noted that the grey Joy-Con Nintendo Switch is #6).

So that means on pre-orders alone, Super Mario Odyssey has sold more copies on Amazon than Horizon: Zero Dawn, Splatoon 2, Resident Evil 7, Uncharted Lost Legacy, and many, many more. In fact, the only two games that have beaten it sales wise in 2017 are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which isn’t much of a surprise as they are the “go to” games for the console…at least until Odyssey comes out.

We knew the game would sell well, that wasn’t the issue, but to already be THIS HIGH up on the charts? On just pre-orders? And recall, this is just Amazon, this isn’t including Best Buy, or GameStop or any of the other stores, and of course, some people will just do walk-in buys with no pre-orders. This game is going to sell massive numbers when it releases October 27th.
