2K Games releases first WWE 2K18 screenshots

Recently via a 2K Dev video, 2K Games has released the first two screenshots of the upcoming yearly release of the WWE 2K franchise: WWE 2K18. Of course these first two screen shots feature WWE 2K18 cover superstar Seth Rollins in some amazing level of detail that has never been seen in a WWE video game, keeping in line with the yearly update to the gaming series looking better than the one that came before it. You can watch the 2K Dev in full down below where they reveal the two screen shots near the end of the video

As you can see, the detail on Seth Rollins is closer to digital perfection than anything we have seen out of the WWE gaming series from either THQ or 2K Games. Hopefully these are the final renders for WWE 2K18 and not the prototype ones that they release early to build hype only to reduce them due to system memory size or some other bullshit. Since there is no PS3 or Xbox 360 release this year, the downscaling doesn’t seem likely out of the gate… At least till the Switch port happens. But there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Imagine seeing these graphics in 4K on PC…

As you can see from the screenshots above (Full sized versions when you click the thumbnails) 2K Games has taken a painstakingly tough route when it comes to things like flesh toning, muscle molding, and clothing textures this year. It’s been done so well that some people have had to double check the images to make sure they are indeed the video game renditions and not just photos placed on Twitter and other social media sites.

Not to mention that the updated detailing has led to some awesome puns from guys like Rusev (Seen below) and Cesaro from WWE, including an approval of sorts from Seth Rollins himself.

The accuracy is stunning this year.

A fan on Twitter also took a moment to do a screen grab from WWE 2K17 and shows it off next to the recently released WWE 2K18 screenshot to show the difference and it turns out to be a gigantic leap in graphical quality.

The difference between 2K17 & 2K18 is beyond amazing!!! @WWEgames will truly deliver one of the best wrestling games ever created 🔥 #WWE2K18 pic.twitter.com/1RW5aEcL8n

WWE 2K18 is due out on October 17, 2017 (or October 13, 2017 if you get the Deluxe Edition or Cena(nuff) Collectors Edition) for Playstation 4 and Xbox One with a Nintendo Switch and PC version also being in development with no release date available at this time. For more information on WWE 2K18, you can visit the official 2K Games website or return to The Outerhaven anytime between now and the game’s release.
