Sonic Mania Launch Trailer Released, Game Is Reviewing Well

With the release of Sonic Mania being tomorrow (unless you’re on PC), Sega has just dropped the launch trailer for the game. Now a few days ago, Sega treated us to a snippet of the trailer, but now we’re getting the full edit and I like it. Yes, I know I was on the fence about the animation bit for a while, but that was just nostalgia not letting go of me.

With bits of the opening animation and gameplay toss together, it only serves to get one hyped up for tomorrow’s launch. It’s definitely nice to see old & familiar faces of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles doing what they do best. It’s been a while but we’re finally getting another 2D Sonic the Hedgehog title and I can’t wait to dive in.

And it looks like the reviews for the title are super positive, meaning this game has avoided the Sonic Cycle – Thank the gaming lords. Currently, the game is averaging at 85% on Opencritic and Metacritic. Expect our review to go up later this week.

Sonic Mania releases tomorrow on the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. PC gamers will have to wait until August 29th for their copy, due to performance optimization woes.
