Major Nelson Interview Showcases the Project Scorpio Development Kit

By Keith MitchellJune 5, 2017

While the rest of the gaming world eagerly awaits for the official reveal of Project Scorpio, Larry Hryb (Major Nelson) sits down with the Kevin Gamble of the Xbox engineering team. During this interview, we not only get a chance to take a look at the Project Scorpio development kit but also the specifics of the unit.

There are quite a bit of difference between it and what consumers will get when Project Scorpio is finally released. Two Ethernet ports, an on-screen display, larger hard drive (SSD) and others round out the kit. Major Nelson also lets it slip that he’s seen the actual Project Scorpio hardware and there are some cosmetic differences as well. It also seems that multiple vendors already have their hands on the dev kit and are impressed by it, which is good news.

If you were ever curious about the system ever since the pictures of it started to hit the web, check out the video.

Microsoft is set to reveal Project Scorpio, as well as the price, the game lineup and more during E3 2017. We’ll be on hand and live blogging the reveal from Los Angeles as well. Be sure to stop back for our E3 2017 coverage!
